The correct purpose of lawn mowing is to maintain that the grass has the ideal height. Grass will tend to suffer in growing if you cut it too short. It is because the grassroots can't receive ample food, water, and nutrition. In a hot climate, cutting the grasses too short will result in the dried ground excessively and damaging the roots. Besides, to leave it too long might cause to shock the grass when you cut & and excess reside which will take it a long time to decompose.
How often we should mow our lawn relies on how quickly the lawn grows as well the ideal height of each grass. Naturally, how quickly the lawn grows depends on some numbers of conditions:
1. How much the fertilizer you apply
The more fertilizer of nitrogen applied to it, the faster it grows, and the more you should mow.
2. The time of year
During the Cool season, grass grows fastest, i.e. in the cool months of spring and fall. Meanwhile, during the warm season or the hot months of summer, grass grows faster. During the periods, you should mow more the lawn often.
3. How you water
Naturally, if you give up watering, or at least cut it way back, the grasses grow less which in turn you do not need to cut them as frequent. More water means more mowing.
In case you let the lawn grow too high and then you mow it, it is not big deal, isn't it? Wrong!
Firstly, the grass might get sunburned. It is a kind of like taking our shirt off at the beach at the first time during the summer. When the grass gets tall, the lower parts of the grasses are shaded. When you cut them, the shaded part is not used to the sun & burns. That isn't a good idea.
If you cut the really long grasses will also shock the roots. The height of grasses has a direct relationship with the depth of them. If you whack a big top portion off, you are cutting off the food, meaning you are hurting the roots. That isn't good.
Lastly, to mow tall grass will result in a mess. You must clean up all the clippings since if you do not, the extra long clippings might smother the grass. That is really bad. Moreover, those glass clumps look terrible.
