Autumn during September to the end of December is is coming. What to prepare to deal with this season on your lawn?
Here are the 6 tips you should do to deal with your lawn during the autumn season:
1. Removing the leaves
To have an autumn leaves look of carpet is nice and interesting to play in, yet it is not good for grass. The trap moisture and blocking the light may result in fatal punches for the unfortunate lanw underneath. Then, if the leaves are getting fallen, rake the leaves away as frecquently as possible. If you do not do it, this will result in the dead decaying mat.
2. Fertilizing the lawn
Autumn means the time for you to fertilize the lawn. This will provide it the boost your lawn to keep healthy in winter. Doing such a thing also will prevent any weeds taking hold when the grate rate of the lawn slows.
Applying the slow release and granular fertilizer during the early to the mid-season of autumn will feed the lawn as well as provide the best result. Make it sure you have checked the forest and fertilized it before predicting the rain. If not, watering the lawn lightly will help you to protect it against the burned leaves.
3. Attacking the grubs and weeds
The lawn grubs and weeds of broad leaves are capable of taking hold during autumn. If you find any of these two appearing, take control over them before becoming established.
A weed killer of broad leaves which is safe for the lawn variety can take care about such most weeds. Yet, if you are not sure, you'd better ask for some advice from a lawn professional.
4. Lifting the mower height
Lift your mower height a couple of levels. Mowing the lawn a little longer during the autumn will help it to absorb more sunlight as well as protect the lawn from the cooler weather.
Detatching will remove the old grass and muclh build-up from underlayer of the lawn as well as encourage new, thick growth.
6. Laying new lawn
This last step will increase the potential of better growth of your lawn as the new lawn will change the dead ones.
